The trust regularly misuses and abuses the Data Protection Act as a means to stop whistle blowing.

Has anyone asked the individuals supposedly protected by these rules if they would allow their names to be used in the public domain?

If it involved myself or my family being put at risk, I would sign any disclaimer at the drop of a hat.

I was an NHS professional in the 1980s under the Thatcher government. I saw a memo sent to consultants at the hospital I worked for which said private patients should be put forward before public to bring in money.

Luckily, before I blew the whistle someone in another department exposed the scam, but because of the stress he had a mild heart attack and went off sick, only to find when he came back that his department was the first to go out to public tender and he was made redundant.

Please, Steve and colleagues, for the sake of your sanity, family, friends and future happiness, just let it go as you will never win.

Even if you win, all you will do is lose precious time and get a reference that no one will touch with barge pole. And the NHS will lose a good man.

I respect you and your colleagues greatly, but you have committed professional suicide in a very public way that should be applauded by the public, but will inevitably be slaughtered in private.
