The facts on transfer
I would like to reply to the letter from Dr Mary Griffiths, of Stafford, (Star, July 24), as she has got the facts wrong.

If the council houses in Oswestry transfer they will belong to Oswestry Housing Association. They in turn will belong to Central Borders Housing Group which belongs to South Shropshire Housing Association.
As South Shropshire Housing Association already pays its board members it is obvious that the other two will also be paid the same.
What this will mean is higher costs to both south Stafford and Oswestry tenants with less money available for repairs. In the long run this can only mean higher rents for tenants.
Granville Bryant, Oswestry
