Power loss hits homes
More than 1,000 Shropshire homes were left without electricity today because of a cable fault. Homes in the villages of Cound, Cross Houses and Upton Magna were all affected.

More than 1,000 Shropshire homes were left without electricity today because of a cable fault.
Homes in the villages of Cound, Cross Houses and Upton Magna were all affected.
Most households were switched back on within half an hour.
Jamie Majid, spokesman for Central Networks, said: "A total of 1,100 customers in Cound, Cross Houses and Upton Magna were affected. The majority were restored by 6.52am and everyone was back on by 7.13am.
"We apologise for the inconvenience but power was restored very quickly."
