The people responsible are the Scottish Government we have in charge of us, backed by the Scottish Members of Parliament.
The Scottish public sees the unfairness of this. I agree with the other letter writers but I fear there is a greater danger to our country. That is the European Union.
The EU makes no secret of the fact that it intends to remove the name England from the map of Europe and replace it with eight nameless regions.
Surely the leaders of the political parties are aware of this danger.
Recently our farmers have been told to cease growing sugar beet. The reason, though not stated, is so that the French farmers financed by the EU can compete. You will find that the price of sugar will increase.
Tony Blair and the Labour Party have always been keen for England to be in the EU. The same goes for the Liberals. What puzzles me is the silence of the Conservatives.
