Regarding the Ricky Tomlinson saga, how dare he come back to Shropshire, pleading his innocence.

I saw "One Life" on television on March 27. He may be 68 years old now, but at the time he and those with him were young, strong men in their 30s.

I was a foreman bricklayer working for Morris & Jacombs on Woodside flats when they pounced with their threatening behaviour.

One of the bricklayers was made to put his hard-earned tools down and leave them.

This man, one of my good friends (now deceased), would not watch any of Tomlinson's programmes.

I remember windows smashed, brickwork pushed over, workers intimidated - how has he got the nerve to plead his innocence after all these years?

Those of us left from those days in the building trade feel exactly like Mr Growcott, who I recall being a very good labourer who worked very hard.

Ricky, for your mother's memory take your sentence like a man.
