Workers leave town a mess
I have read so much in your newspaper about the regeneration of Wellington town centre.
I have read so much in your newspaper about the regeneration of Wellington town centre.
Just like in so many other areas, new pipes are being laid in Wellington centre and what a mess is being left behind. The roads and footpaths are like patchwork quilts.
In two places where the trenches come from the road they have painted yellow lines on each, no more than 18 inches long. The original yellow lines are virtually non-existent.
Someone from the town or district council has got to get a grip and make the contractors return these areas back to their original or better state than when they started, or will the town council have to pay out of the regeneration fund to get it put right after the contractors have long gone?
