One of the premier hotels in Llangollen and the Dee Valley is set to change hands.
Hoteliers David and Stephanie Booth are to add The Wild Pheasant Hotel, Berwyn Road, Llangollen, to their Lloyds Hotels chain.
The hotel will join The Bryn Howel Hotel in Trevor, Bodidris Hall in Llandegla and Chainbridge Hotel in Llangollen as part of the chain when contracts are exchanged early next week.
Although the purchase price is not being disclosed, the hotel is valued in excess of £4 million.
Current owner Pat Langhorn and her business partner Tony Sullman have spent around £3 million upgrading the Wild Pheasant during their five-year tenure, adding additional bedrooms and a spa with a range of treatments in luxurious surroundings.
Mrs Booth said: "We're obviously delighted to have been able to acquire such a quality hotel in one of the most beautiful locations in the UK. Pat and Tony will be a hard act to follow."
Although owned by Miss Langhorn and her partner, the hotel is currently run under the management of national operator Legacy Hotels and Resorts, which will hand over the business upon completion, expected to be early next month.
Miss Langhorn said: "I am sad to be leaving, but wanted someone to buy it I could be confident would love and cherish it, just as we have."
Andy Townsend, Legacy chief executive, has confirmed all current staff will transfer to the new owners upon completion, with their employment remaining unchanged.
