Get behind campaign
There have been two landmark victories against the scourge of wind turbines in recent weeks. Firstly, Ceredigion councillors rejected wind turbines at Mydroilyn, near New Quay.
Secondly, the Planning Inspectorate of the Welsh Assembly has just rejected an appeal by wind energy group, Awel Aman Tawe, after Neath Port Talbot County Council had earlier rejected wind turbines on Mynydd y Gwrhyd, between Pontardawe and Cwmllynfell.
The people of that area are alarmed by the spread of these monstrous turbines, so they are protesting and local authorities in South Wales are beginning to reject them.
There is now a danger that some of Wales's TAN 8 allocation of wind turbines could be dumped in the more sparsely populated areas of Mid Wales, in Powys and North Ceredigion. This must not be allowed.
The people of Mid Wales must stand firm and get pro-active against these monstrous 400ft high triffids.
One won't find a single wind turbine across Offa's Dyke in Shropshire, Warwickshire, Herefordshire or Worcestershire. In fact most English counties have none, whilst there have been 103 wind turbines in Llandinam for years. Mid Wales must get vociferous otherwise turbines will be coming its way.
