Woosie's wife in hospital
The wife of Shropshire Ryder Cup captain Ian Woosnam has been rushed to hospital after vomiting blood. Glendryth Woosnam, 45, started being violently sick at her Caribbean home and made a desperate cry for help.
She is reported to have told the sports champ not to rush to her bedside in Barbados but to remain in Scotland where he is currently taking part in the Dunhill Links Championship.
But golfer Woosnam, who had wanted to pull out of the competition, was maintaining regular contact with his wife.
He was reported as saying: "I speak to her at the hospital every day and she calls every day while watching my progress on satellite TV. I'm looking forward to seeing her very soon."
The news comes just days after it was revealed that Mrs Woosnam was not allowed on a BA flight to Barbados because she was "a bit woozy".
