Let the EU fund better transport
Without reference to the electorate, the Borough of Telford & Wrekin has signed us up to the West Midlands City Region. If this is going to be as good for us as the ongoing traffic "improvements" around the borough I'm sure we'll all be suitably ecstatic.
To an old cynic like me though, it all smells of the EU, the West Midlands Regional Government and an over-riding contempt for democracy. Righto. Let's work with it, then. Pretty soon, driving around the borough is going to be a nightmare. I want a new transport system.
The EU has money (much of it contributed by the UK) to burn and I'm sure that with our compulsory generosity, the WMCR will be in much the same position.
Therefore, let them justify their existence to us by funding the provision of a new transport system.
