Members of Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club were told by treasurer Chris Yaxley that the sleigh raised £9,353 against £8,700 the previous year.
The fundraising was boosted by an additional day at one of the local supermarkets.
Rotarians heard that this is the largest-ever amount from the sleigh for which 414 man hours were delivered in visits to supermarkets, villages and suburbs of Shrewsbury.
Shrewsbury Severn Rotary Club president Fred McDonogh said: “The club were very impressed by the generosity of the customers of Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Tesco.”
