Do you have the X Factor? Auditions for hit TV talent show heading to Birmingham this weekend

Think you have what it takes to be the next big music star? Then head to Birmingham this weekend to take part in the auditions for hit TV competition The X Factor.

The X Factor auditions are coming to the Midlands

Audition's will be taking plat at The Square Shopping Centre in the city this Saturday and Sunday with talent scouts looking for budding hopefuls to take part in series 16 of the popular show.

"The auditions are open to all genres and types of singers, including those performing their own original material," said a spokesman for the show.

"So if you think you are the next Dalton Harris, Rak-Su, One Direction or Little Mix and think you have what it takes to be chosen to be on the next series of The X Factor, make sure you apply to audition".

Groups or solo singers aged 16 or over can apply online, register for an upcoming event, or turn up in person on the day.

You can also audition with your mobile phone by sending a message, featuring a video of you, a friend, or family member singing to The X Factor's WhatsApp number 07733222927.

The Birmingham auditions will take place from 9am to 6pm each day and under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and have valid ID.

Artists discovered by The X Factor UK have sold more than 500 million records worldwide making it the most successful show in history for finding chart superstars.

Hit boy band One Direction, featuring Wolverhampton musician Liam Payne, have sold more than 150 million records worldwide and won seven BRIT awards.

They were also the biggest selling UK act globally for three consecutive years from 2012 to 2014, and additionally in 2013 they were also the biggest selling act in the world.

Winners include Little Mix, the first girl group to win the competition, who have sold more than 45 million records worldwide. The group’s triple-platinum selling album Glory Days spent five weeks at number one in the UK, the most for a girl group since the Spice Girls in 1997.

James Arthur’s number one single Say You Won’t Let Go has gone multi-platinum in both the US and UK, selling more than 11 million units worldwide to date.

Grammy nominee Leona Lewis’ debut single Bleeding Love was number one for seven consecutive weeks and became the world’s biggest selling single of 2007.

Dalton Harris’ X Factor winner’s single with James Arthur, The Power of Love, went straight to number one on iTunes and debuted at number one Official Vodafone Big Top 40.
