Alton Towers reveal terrifying new ride SW8 - see teaser videos here
A thrilling new ride is set to open at Alton Towers in set to be unveiled on Monday.
Secret Weapon 8 (SW8) comes from the team which produced Oblivion, the world's first vertical drop rollercoaster.
The theme park has revealed terrifying new attraction SW8 will be centred around the Beornen - a mysterious group said to have marked the woods of Alton Towers as their own.
Construction of the ride began more than two years ago and has involved at least 100 construction workers who have moved 50,000 tonnes of earth.

Back in October, as part of Alton Towers' legendary Halloween attraction Scarefest, a brand new scare maze was introduced as a prelude to SW8.
Characters from The Welcoming: Be Chosen even taunted unsuspecting Londoners who were the first test subjects of the maze, which the theme park dubbed 'one of the most horrifying Halloween scare maze experiences in history'. Characters singled out passers-by, who will go on to be among the first to experience the brand new ride.
Alton Towers states that the ride will open in Spring this year.
