Paintings by George Stubbs to go on display at Weston Park
Visitors to a Shropshire stately home will have the chance to see a rare display of pictures by equestrian artist George Stubbs.

Three Stubbs paintings, on loan from private collections, will be on view in the Granary Art Gallery at Weston Park this summer.
Best known for his paintings of horses, the selected works include Stubbs' The Grosvenor Hunt, Mares and Foals and Lord Pigot of Patshull.
Gareth Williams, Curator to the Weston Park Foundation, said: "As obvious as the title of this talk sounds, George Stubbs was the first British artist to focus exclusively on the horse as a subject throughout his artistic career.
"With three exceptional examples of his paintings coming together for this unique exhibition at Weston Park this summer, we have the rare chance to explore what the horse meant to the owners who commissioned these works and why these paintings still give us feelings of great pleasure and admiration when we are fortunate to stand in front of them today.
"We are thrilled to be welcoming this collection of works by Stubbs, arguably the greatest animal painter in history, into the Granary Art Gallery."
Weston Park is already home to one Stubbs painting, which was commissioned by Sir Henry Bridgeman, and hangs in the entrance hall of the main house today.
The exhibition runs from now until the end of September.
The Granary Art Gallery is open seven days a week between 11am-4pm and admission is free. For further details on up-coming exhibitions, visit www.weston-park.com/artgallery
