New lease of life at Market Drayton business park
More than 600 jobs could be created as part of a major development to bring new life to an empty business park in Market Drayton.
Redstart Construction Limited, based in Shrewsbury, has signed a deal with Shropshire Council to take over phase two of the Tern Valley Business Park.
It will involve creating offices and small workshops. Companies from the town and further afield are being offered the chance to move on to the site, which cost £3.5 million to build. The buildings are set to be completed within two years.
Council bosses say up to 13 acres of land will accommodate over 200,000sq ft of floor space. The deal will see Redstart initially develop 14,000sq ft of serviced offices and 9,000sq ft of small workshops, catering for the needs of expanding local businesses and new investment.
David Minnery, Shropshire councillor for Market Drayton West, said it was brilliant news for the town.
"At long last, we are really pleased that the contract has been signed," he said.
