A visit to an open garden in Powys will benefit carers across Wales
In Wales there are over 310,000 unpaid carers, often unrecognised, spending up to 24 hours a day looking after a family member or friend without much respite.
Last year the Carers Trust in Wales, working with a network of local carer organisations, directly supported over 28,000 carers, providing advice and practical help including short breaks that help transform the lives of carers.

In 2025 the Carers Trust was one of the major beneficiaries of the National Garden Scheme. Stephanie Morgan hosted an open garden event at her home, Garregllwyd, Nantmel, Rhayader for carers and some of the Carers Trust team from across Powys and Ceredigion.
She was supported by National Garden Scheme volunteers, with Dr Richard Claxton, Chief Executive, travelling from Kent to join them.
Despite unseasonable weather, the visitors dodged the rain to enjoy a tour of the three acre landscaped garden at 1000 feet with panoramic views of mid Wales, met others in the same situation as themselves and, of course, enjoy tea and lots of cake!
If you would like to visit Garregllwyd the garden is open by arrangement until September, book using https://findagarden.ngs.org.uk/garden/44819/garregllwyd
