You need to turn up the sound for this umpire being hit in the head by a flying baseball bat

Poor Chris Segal took it like a champ to be fair.

A rather unfortunate baseball umpire was struck quite spectacularly in the head after the batsman let his bat slip from his grasp.

Umpire Chris Segal was officiating on the Toronto Blue Jays-Boston Red Sox game when batsman Josh Donaldson had a case of butter-fingers – turn up the sound for this one.

Ouch.

Fortunately, despite dropping to the floor after the blow to the head, Donaldson took it like a champ and was eventually allowed to continue after medical personnel tended to him.

The American League East match-up ended with a 4-3 victory to the Blue Jays.
