The club's latest signing struck twice in the second period at Telford Ice Rink, as the Tigers came from behind to record their fourth win over the Lightning this season.

The victory means Telford remain sixth in the English Premier League, but they are now level on points with fifth-placed Swindon Wildcats.

A goal on six minutes handed Milton Keynes that early lead, as they made the most of a slow start from Telford.

The visitors extended their advantage at the start of the second session, before Makrov reduced the deficit when he scored his first goal of the night on 23 minutes.

Blaho Novak equalised for the hosts on 31 minutes, with Makrov's second goal coming just before the interval.

Tigers captain Jason Silverthorn was on target after five minutes of the final period, sealing victory for Telford.

On Saturday night, meanwhile, Tigers dished out a 9-0 drubbing to Hull Pirates on Humberside.

First period goals from Silverthorn and Macaulay Heywood handed Telford a 2-0 lead, before a stellar second session put the result beyond doubt.

Three goals in just over a minute – thanks to Max Birbraer (2) and Rick Plant – gave Tigers a commanding 5-0 advantage at the halfway point of the game, while Joe Miller added a sixth just before the interval.

Silverthorn, Miller and Peter Szabo rounded off the scoring in the final period, handing Telford their biggest win since November's 9-0 success over Manchester.

The Tigers are back in action next weekend, when they make the trip to face Sheffield Steeldogs on Saturday night.

Their next home game is on February 20th, when they host Manchester Phoenix at Telford Ice Rink.
