Swindon 0 Shrewsbury Town 1 - Player ratings
See how we rated the Shrewsbury Town players in their win over Swindon.
Matija Sarkic
Was only really tested once with a smart low stop in the second half, but the on-loan Wolves goalkeeper is outstanding coming for aerial balls, taking the pressure off his side.
Solid 7
Donald Love
Back in a more familiar right-back role as Shrewsbury changed shape to a back four and was solid for the most part. Always gives everything he has, if some touches and passes were a little rusty.
Steady 7
Ro-Shaun Williams
The re-shuffle to a back four and the absence of leader Pierre meant Williams found himself in the driving seat alongside Ebanks-Landell. Was solid after nasty head injury early on. Talked to his more senior partner throughout.
Leader 8
Ethan Ebanks-Landell
Looked a little groggy after clashing heads with Williams inside 30 seconds but recovered well. Robins wily striker Pitman is a handful and won some headers but Ebanks-Landell did everything he had to.
Dominant 8
Nathanael Ogbeta
Keeps growing and maturing with every display. Unquestionably been Town’s best player since his debut the previous weekend. He looks like he has everything, both in attack and defence and handled the formation change expertly. Some great crosses.
Growing 8
Josh Vela
Won a lot of plaudits lately and was excellent again here. He and Norburn won the midfield battle for large parts of the contest. Vela doesn’t stop, he charges into opponents to win the ball effectively and uses it well.
Commanding 7
Ollie Norburn
The skipper’s use of the ball caught the eye again. He excels in communicating with his team-mates but has improved his progressive play of late.
Driving 7
Sean Goss
Handed a start after his injury return and, while more known for his use of the ball rather than without, worked hard for his team and did the dirty stuff.
Work rate 7
Shaun Whalley
Always a willing runner and caused Swindon’s defence no end of problems linking with Main’s expert hold-up play, particularly before the break.
Sharp 7
Harry Chapman
What a goal. A third in three games for Town’s new loan star who, quite frankly, looks too good for League One so far. Stunning half-volley. And great work rate.
Match-winner 8
Curtis Main
Made plenty of Shrews fans eat humble pie over the reaction to his signing with this debut. Strong as an ox, he won everything and linked well. Town have lacked that.
Focal point 8
Substitutes
