The summer signing, who has started the last eight games, has netted once for Shrewsbury this season, in the 2-2 draw with Gillingham.

But he knows he needs to have 10 or more by the end of the season to really establish himself as a top League One player.

On his own midfield game, the Mancunian said: “I think I can improve defensively, massively.

“But I can also improve at the other end, scoring more goals, I have got it in my locker – it’s just about moulding it all together and trying to become a bit more of the finished article.

“Scoring double figures is when people do start speaking about you and you do get realised a bit more.

“That’s something I definitely want to add to our game, some wins as well.

“We’re strong in central midfield and the players that haven’t played are more than capable of playing.

“If you play then you have to take your opportunity.”

Norburn revealed how impressed he is with Town’s professional set-up following his hike up two divisions in the summer.

Town’s facilities, such as their Montgomery Waters Meadow home and Sundorne Castle training base, have caught the eye of the 25-year-old.

Norburn has spent the last three seasons seasons playing in the National League with Guiseley, Macclesfield and Tranmere.

But he praised the way things are run at Town under John Askey.

“Look at the training ground, I’ve been very impressed since I’ve come here,” Norburn said.

“Everything’s professional from the chef, to the kitman Strongy (Darryl Strong), everything throughout the club is run properly.

“Everything’s in place for it to go further and I want to be a part of it.”
