Midfielder Marsh and goalkeeper Martinez have been awarded non-contract terms following pre-season stints with the Bucks.

Marsh, aged 20, came through the ranks at Liverpool and has also had spells at Sheffield Wednesday and Chester City.

Martinez, 24, is formerly of Solihull Moors and is set to serve as back-up to Telford’s number one, Jas Singh.

“They are both good characters who are willing to learn,” said Edwards.

“First of all, with Sheridan, I wanted to sign two keepers.

“He is the right character. He has got a lot to to learn, but we all have, and he wants to learn.

“He has really been listening in training, taking what we have had to say on board and then putting it into practice.

“He has worked hard and saved a penalty at Caernarfon on Saturday. We have been pleased with him.”

Telford, apart from a brief period where Callum Burton and Matt Urwin were both on loan, operated with one keeper on their books last term.

On why he wanted two, Edwards added: “Anything can happen – there can be an injury, a red card.

“I didn’t want something like that happening in a game and then not having another keeper when we could have had one.”

Marsh has scored a couple of goals over pre-season in an advanced midfield role.

Edwards feels he can provide goals, but has stressed he needs to work hard to earn a starting sport.

“Will, he is someone I have known for a long time from when I was at Wolves (as under-18s coach),” he said.

“He is a goalscoring threat from midfield and he has chipped in with a couple of goals over pre-season – he took his goal well at Caernarfon on Saturday.

“He is the right character – young, hungry with something to prove.

“Will wants to get back into full-time football, but he knows he has to work hard and earn his way into the team here – it’s a two-way thing.”

Marsh looks set to compete with John Marsden for Telford’s ‘number 10’ role.

“I see him in a more advanced role, off the striker,” Edwards added. “He can score goals for us and I am looking forward to seeing how he does for us.”
