The Solihull-based club simply proved too strong as they defeated Walsall by 70-runs in the final, at the end of an action-packed day at Cricket Meadow.

Shifnal, Shropshire's sole remaining representative in the competition, had earlier seen their hopes of glory go up in smoke.

They went down to Walsall by three wickets in the semi-finals, after a nightmare start.

Opener Steve Leach was bowled with the first ball of the match for a diamond duck, before Jack Edwards (67) and Jack McIver (37) rebuilt the innings with a second wicket stand of 92.

But their departures saw the innings lose momentum as Shifnal finished on 132-7, a total Walsall chased down with five balls to spare.

Knowle & Dorridge defeated Bromsgrove in the other semi-final.
