A winning draw against Reman Services on Saturday saw them bank 10 points after all other games but one were washed out in the Shropshire League Premier Division.

Worfield against St Georges managed to start but were forced to abandon play after just 12 overs.

But with the rest of the games called off, Parry was delighted Frankton could take their big chance and they now sit fourth bottom in the table.

"In the end we've gained five points and the benefit is the teams near the bottom with us were due to play each other," he said.

"Away to the second-placed team in the league you might have taken what you can, but to come away with something like that is great.

"The target was 152 for the win but that was beyond us. The winning draw target was 115 and we had to reach that off the last ball, it was quite exciting."

Parry hit a four off the final ball to guide them to the points in his knock of 34 from just 29 balls. Sri Lanka Nalaka De Silva top-scored with 52 in their total of 117-3.

Reman Services had posted 151-9 after Malcolm Serplet hit 42 but Jacob Northwood's 3-45 and two wickets each for De Silva and Richard Parry-Jones had Reman Services struggling.
