Olympian archers to take aim at Long Mynd

Long Mynd Archery Club will have Olympians shooting on their ground once again this Sunday.

The club is home to six-time Olympian Alison Williamson and will be hosting a world record Status shoot as well as appearances from the Archery GB team, including Naomi Folkard and Patrick Huston .

The club has dubbed the event 'Blow Away the Cobwebs' and it consists of a double 70m/50m shoot, with both junior and senior tournaments taking place.

Medals will be awarded on the best single round, with national ranking points being awarded on the double round.

Archery GB are using the event as training preparation for the upcoming World Cup in Shanghai and have selected Naomi Folkard, Sarah Bettles, Eleanor Piper, Bryony Pitman, Patrick Huston, Tom Barber, Tom Hall and Alex Wise.

Also shooting at the event are Sylvia Harris who shot at Barcelona 1992 and paralympian John Stubbs.
