Police in Whitchurch today launched an appeal for witnesses to the smash, which involved a Vauxhall Corsa, a Scania light goods vehicle and a low loader.
The Corsa driver was cut free from her car by firefighters before being airlifted to hospital with head injuries.
Constable Chris Peel, who is investigating the crash, said: "The road was closed until shortly before 7pm while the emergency services and police collision investigators worked at the scene.
"The Scania lorry was heading towards Nantwich and the Corsa and MAN lorry were both heading in the opposite direction towards Whitchurch. I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash itself or who saw the Corsa or the two lorries being driven immediately beforehand."
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "On arrival, crews found a car which had significant damage following a collision with two lorries.
"Ambulance staff then immobilised her using a neck collar and spinal board before flying her to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in Stoke-on-Trent.
"The hospital was put on alert as the air ambulance left the scene, due to the serious nature of the woman's injuries."
