A young priest who has made waves on social media app TikTok is set to move to Newport.
The Bishop of Shrewsbury has announced that Reverend Pippa White, who is currently based in Whitchurch, has been appointed as Rector of the Benefice of Newport with Longford and Chetwynd.

The 31-year-old has gained quite the following on TikTok, having accrued more than 31,000 followers on the social media app.
Speaking to the Shropshire Star last year, Pippa said it was “joyous” to be able to connect with Generations Z and Alpha, bust myths and promote the faith on the popular platform.
A spokesperson for St Nicholas Church said: “Pippa brings with her a deep love for the local church, a warm pastoral heart, and a genuine gift for building relationships and encouraging others in faith.”

In the statement released to the parish, Pippa said: "I'm so excited to become your Rector! As a Norfolk girl, I'm thrilled to be able to keep living in a rural area, and am looking forward to meeting you all soon and seeing what God has in store for this benefice."
The Licensing Service will take place on Saturday, October 17.
