Telford pub closed suddenly 'due to unforeseen circumstances'
The pub ‘will remain closed until further notice’.
A Telford pub has closed suddenly “due to unforeseen circumstances”.
Residents of Ketley reported that The Horseshoes had posted a notice on its door today, saying that the pub had shut.
The closure comes after a video circulating on social media appeared to show an unsavoury altercation outside the Holyhead Road venue.
Punch Pubs, which owns the venue, confirmed the closure of the pub.
A spokesman for the firm said: "Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances The Horseshoes pub in Ketley will remain closed until further notice.”
Julie and Ryan Owen took over the pub earlier this year.
At the time Mrs Owen said: “It’s all about making it a really nice, friendly place to come. Very much a community‑based pub.”
