Mutt Motorcycles reveals Fat Sabbath 125

Birmingham-based bike builder creates budget 125cc looking for muscle for less money

British manufacturer Mutt Motorcycles has revealed a new bike aimed at those who want a muscular-looking machine without breaking the bank.

This is the Fat Sabbath 125 which – as suggested by the name – is powered by a 125cc four-stroke motor. It’s a development of Mutt’s existing Blackest Sabbath model – here with stealthy-looking matt-black bodywork that gives it a mean stance on the road. Mutt even goes so far as to say it’s “far and away the coolest 125cc out there”.

Performance-wise, the engine – paired to a five-speed manual transmission – is good for 12bhp and 10Nm of torque. It’s capable of taking the bike up to 70mph.

Benny Thomas, founder of Mutt Motorcycles, said: “We beefed the Blackest up even more, adding wider rims, super-fat Continental twin-duro tyres, micro LEDs, hand-fabricated fenders, a hand-made blacker than black diamond-stitched seat and a whole host of special touches.

Mutt Motorcycles was founded in 2013 after Thomas spotted a gap in the market for small-displacement custom bikes. The firm is based in Birmingham – with its headquarters hosting not just its factory but also a clothing store and coffee shop.

Notable owners of its bikes currently include actor Tom Hardy, British athlete Iwan Thomas and Lee Malia of rock band Bring Me The Horizon.

The Blackest Sabbath is the company’s tribute to rock band Black Sabbath, who were formed in Birmingham in 1968.
