Woman rescued from railway track in Shrewsbury

A woman was seriously injured after falling from a height onto a railway track in Shrewsbury.

Emergency services rescued the woman from the tracks at Belle Vue Road on Sunday evening.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 7.29pm to reports of a patient who had fallen from a railway bridge.

A spokesman said: "We had one ambulance and a paramedic officer in attendance.

"They treated one patient, a woman who had fallen from height, for multiple injuries which are not believed to be life threatening."

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service sent three crews from Shrewsbury and Wellington.

The woman was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
