The funding for Tilstock Primary School will be used to make essential improvements to the building to support teaching and learning across the school.

It follows the recent announcement of its conversion to academy status, sponsored by The Marches Academy Trust.

The school will open its doors on December 7 between 1–6pm to parents of prospective pupils.

There will be an opportunity to meet the new Head of School Mr James Spicer and newly appointed Deputy Head Kerry Goff. Teaching staff will also be on hand to answer questions.

Mr Spicer said: “We appreciate choosing the right nursery and primary school for your child can be a difficult decision. We therefore urge you to visit us during our open afternoon to meet with the staff, view the children in their learning environment and join us in helping to shape the future of Tilstock Primary School and its mursery provision. ”

Sarah Longville, chief executive of the Marches Academy Trust, said, “We are really excited about the developments taking place at Tilstock C.E Primary School to meet with the educational demands of our children, the school, staff, parents and the wider community. We hope that parents and prospective parents will take the opportunity to come and visit the school to witness for themselves the improvements being made and the plans being put in place for the future."
