Opening dates are April 24, May 22, and June 26, although it can also open by special arrangement during the season.

Roger and Yoland Brown said: "We have been opening our garden for charity for 40 years, 35 of those for the National Gardens Scheme.

"The job of the development of turning two acres on a 45 degree slope which had been a scrapyard since 1901 was a bit of a challenge, and it is still being developed. Now we are in our 70s the new challenge is keeping the garden looking good and to be able to maintain it.

"Hence, the garden at Brownhill House is always changing and evolving.

"The slope of the garden has actually enabled us to create many different features, including formal terraces, woodland and riverside walks, perennial flower beds, Japanese Garden, Parterre, Laburnum Walk and the new Sculpture Park. We also have a large vegetable garden and plants for sale.

"This garden is full of interesting and mildly eccentric features."
