Thank you to Peter Smith of Dothill for emailing in this postcard image of Bridgnorth. He says: "While it's a familiar view, there are a number of things that made it stand out. The postcard manufacturer, Valentines, used a date coding system. Even though this card was posted in 1935, the image was first registered in 1900, making it a Victorian view. The young men appear to be fishing off the bridge – difficult to do that now. The clearly-seen Castle Hill railway was relatively new, being eight years old. With the recent publicity about the restoration of the Ridley seeds advertisement on the end of the warehouse building, it's interesting to see that ad wasn't always there. There are four different company names – Thomas Salt Brewery (Burton upon Trent), taken over by Bass in 1927, Morrall's special scotch, Scales & Sons (Listley St. Bridgnorth) and one which is indecipherable."
