The Cavalier Centre in Much Wenlock, home of Perry Riding for the Disabled Association, is launching the auction.

Going live on Wednesday December 2 until December 9, the auction boasts a range of tempting lots to suit all budgets and make ideal Christmas presents.

In total the charity has 72 lots, all kindly donated by generous local businesses and friends of the charity.

At the end of a very difficult year, it is hoped that the auction will raise funds to help them to continue to support people with a range of disabilities and needs from all over Shropshire and beyond.

Among the lots are lessons with some of the leading riders and equestrian trainers from Shropshire and the UK, including lessons with 4* event rider Michael Owen and 5* event rider Louise Harwood.

Also up for grabs for the horse lovers is the chance to win a day’s hunting for two with the Ludlow Hunt and a tour of Stallion AI Services where you will meet the double Olympic champion showjumping legend Big Star.

Adrenaline

Dog lovers are well catered for too with dog agility lessons as well as pet portrait and photography sessions, and food lovers can feast on a hand decorated Christmas cake, a huge supply of ice cream and a cheese hamper.

Adrenaline junkies can choose from a 4x4 off roading experience or off road quad biking.

But if something altogether more tranquil is needed there are lots to win yoga and Pilates classes, a facial or massage or a trip on a horse drawn boat for four.

Jane Barker, trustee and auction organiser, said: “It is with huge thanks to Savina Barnes for the initial idea and to Stephanie Robinson for the setting up of this fabulous site - and to all the incredibly generous donors of items. "We always say that we can't do any of this without your support and I am hopeful you will all turn out to support us through the first week in December.

"I already have my eye on a couple of things.”

Details of all the lots can be found at the auction website at jumblebee.co.uk/perryridingforthedisabledonlineauction

Bidding begins at noon on December 2 and ends at 8pm on December 9.

Perry RDA offers therapeutic riding, carriage driving, vaulting and horse care to people with a range of disabilities and needs.

The Cavalier Centre was opened in April 2019 by HRH the Princess Royal following a five year project to fundraise the £1.3 million to make the dream a reality.
