Latest wheat and OSR advice on show at Herefordshire open day

Arable farmers and agronomists across the West Midlands will be able to see for themselves later this month how best practice stemming from BASF’s Real Results project can help maximise on-farm yields.

The latest findings, advice and technology will be on display and up for discussion at an open day organised by BASF at the regional Real Results Farm at Wigmore Grange, Leintwardine, Herefordshire SY7 0NB on June 26.

The Real Results Circle was launched by BASF in 2017, to create a UK-wide knowledge network to combat some of the biggest challenges the farming industry faces today (see basfrealresults.co.uk).

It aims to bring together industry specialists and farmers to identify and overcome issues that erode profits, and to generate real results through real world trials.

Wigmore Grange is one of six Real Results Farms in the UK established as demonstration sites.

“We very much look forward to welcoming familiar and new faces alike at our open day to show what Real Results is all about”, says regional agronomy manager Robin Rose.

The event, which runs from 13:00-16:00, is packed with topical features, including:

• Comparison of 32 winter wheat varieties with guided tours

• Optimising oilseed rape crops, including latest information on BASF’s Clearfield® technology

• Winter wheat fungicides going head to head with market standards

• BASF PGR programmes

• Demonstration of ezi-connect, Scholle IPN's latest closed-transfer system

• Drone technology from Hummingbird

BASIS and NRoSO points are available. Visitors will also be treated to complimentary hog roast and refreshments.
