A plan has been lodged with Telford & Wrekin Council for the installation of a 15m (49ft) high slim-line monopole with six antennas and three equipment cabinets on land opposite the access to the University of Wolverhampton, in Shifnal Road, Priorslee.

David Round, of Orchard Gardens, said: "Residents are not very happy about it.

"This came out of nowhere. The homes were built six years ago and there was nothing to indicate that any plans were pending. I wouldn't have bought my home."

He added that he uses the StarLink satellite system for his connectivity and he thinks this will become the best option in the future, ruling out the need for telecoms base stations.
