Telford man faces jail after attempting to smuggle £700,000 through Dover

A Telford man has been told he may be jailed after he admitted trying to sneak £700,000 of cash through the Port of Dover.

Evegniy Kamenshtik, 35, of Dinthill, Telford, pleaded guilty through an interpreter to concealing, disguising, converting, transferring or removing criminal property through the Kent port on July 23 this year, when he appeared before a judge at Canterbury Crown Court on Thursday.

Judge Simon Taylor KC, heard that Kamenshtik had no previous convictions and was of a previous "good character".
