Man appears in court charged with carrying machete in Shrewsbury

A man has appeared in court charged with carrying a machete and committing a serious assault.

Christopher Emery, 34, is alleged to have been in possession of the blade in Claverley Crescent, in Sundorne, Shrewsbury on June 28 last year.

He also stands accused of causing actual bodily harm to a man in a Shrewsbury assault on May 16 last year.

He made no plea to charges of possession of an offensive weapon and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Emery, of Claverley Crescent, Shrewsbury, is next listed to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on May 5.
