Warning after counterfeit £50 spent in Shifnal
Businesses in Shifnal are being warned of counterfeit £50 notes after fake cash was used in a shop.
The counterfeit note was used in a shop in the town on Sunday.
Checks carried out on the note on Tuesday showed that it was a counterfeit.
Staff believe that the note was passed by a visitor to the town, he was not someone they recognised as a regular.
It is possible that other attempts to pass counterfeit £50 notes have been made in the town.
If you feel that you may have a counterfeit note, check the Bank of England website which has a detailed description of how to spot a fake at bankofengland.co.uk/banknotes/50-pound-note
