Cop that: Fake officers make drivers brake sharpish
Drivers were quick to put the brakes on when they saw what they thought were two policemen standing under a sign on a main road.
But the 'officers' turned out to be a mannequins dressed in a police-style uniform.
The fake speed cops appeared on the A458 road between Welshpool and Berriew on Thursday.
Local people have been calling for a 50mph speed limit on the road. However, those behind the dummies remain a mystery.
One of drivers who saw them and snapped a photo was Montgomeryshire MP Glyn Davies.
He said: "They were very realistic and effective too. Everyone slowed down."
Welshpool town council has backed calls for a speed restriction but would not comment on the mannequins.
