Markland Seymour Burke, 52, appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday.

He is accused of causing the death of Paul Fentham, 56, of Great Barr, Birmingham, who was a passenger in the van when it crashed near Church Stretton on January 30, 2012.

Burke, who is from Castle Street, Liverpool, was granted unconditional bail until his next hearing, which is due to take place on a date to be fixed by the court in eight weeks' time.
