Telford-based Nasstar has landed the deal with a "global media company", which will see it deliver cloud computing services to 1,000 workers around the world.

While the deal is expected to generate at least £2.1 million in revenue over its three-year life span, it could spiral to £3.3 million if the number of clients covered remain as they are.

It follows a proof of concept with the media company, and will go live during what Nasstar calls a "phased migration project" which is expected to be complete by the end of next June.

Nasstar chief executive Nigel Redwood said: "This represents a significant win for Nasstar which was made possible by our innovation in developing a comprehensive managed service business, embracing both the public and private cloud offerings to deliver the best of both worlds to our clients.

"The investment we have made in our 24/7 capabilities, not only in support but also in projects, was a significant factor in enabling Nasstar to meet the demands of a global business such as this.

"A contract of this size is testament to our growing ability to service larger clients."

The deal is the biggest-ever new contract to have been won by the business, although one other deal started at a lower figure but has since grown beyond the value of the latest tie-up.

Nasstar has been attempting to expand its operations, including with a number of acquisitions, and now employs 200 people.

In the first six months of this year the company delivered revenues of £11.9 million – 47 per cent higher than last year.

Most recently it snapped up industry rival Modrus for £13 million, adding more than £6 million of annual sales to the Queensway Business Park-based group, as well as access to offices in London and New Zealand.

As well as the deal that saw Nasstar merge with Telford-based e-know to create the current business in 2014, the company has made moves for other industry operators Kamanchi in July 2014, and VESK Group in October last year.
