Shropshire MP Philip Dunne calls on EE over mobile signal woe

Shropshire MP Philip Dunne met bosses of communications giant EE to discuss concerns over poor mobile signal across the county.

The meeting followed the Shropshire Star's Get Us Connected campaign, which saw a petition signed by more than 2,000 people presented to Parliament.

South Shropshire MP Mr Dunne recently surveyed households across the Ludlow constituency to find out the strength of local mobile signal and found that many residents had "poor" or "unreliable" service.

He met network bosses to discuss the future of mobile signal in Shropshire and presented them with the results.

He is now awaiting their response.

Mr Dunne said: "In my recent surveys, and from personal experience, it is clear some areas of the Ludlow constituency face weak or unreliable mobile signal service.

"So I called this meeting to present my findings and ask what steps they are taking to resolve poor signal across South Shropshire. I have asked for coverage maps displaying the impact of removing masts which duplicated coverage when Orange and T-Mobile merged, which has reduced the number of areas of strong signal."
