The incidents happened in the Dawley area in the early hours of the morning and are being treated as suspicious.

The first fire was started in George Chetwood Court, Dawley, shortly after 4am, with a crew from Tweedale on scene for about 30 minutes.

The second incident happened in the nearby Matlock Avenue at 4.40am, with a fire involving a car seat.

The third and most serious incident happened at Spout Way at 5.30am, when a vehicle was destroyed by fire.

A spokesman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said no one had been injured in the incident, but police and the fire service were investigating the cause of the incidents.

Inspector Andy Smith, from West Mercia Police, said there had been no arrests at this stage.

He said the incidents were being treated as "unexplained fires" and the three vehicles involved had been unattended and not running at the time of the incidents.

Forensic investigators from the police and fire investigators are now looking into the incidents.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
