Our new site aims to create a rolling photographic record of life in Shropshire and Mid Wales.

It is the perfect way to show off your photographic skills.

But we also want to see snaps of you enjoying yourself on a night out with friends or simply doing something of interest at home.

Shane Swannick sent in a photograph he took this week at Stiperstones.

He said: "It's a view from the ridge, across to Corndon, just as the sun was setting.

"I could see as the day progressed that it was going to be a beautiful evening and I was rewarded with a stunning view."

Another, by Glyn Owen, is a stunning landscape taken on top of Helsby Hill in Cheshire.

He said: "I was looking towards North Wales just before sunset this week. The results were stunning."

And Paula Brown, of Newport, caught an image of Atcham Bridge, near Shrewsbury. She said: "It was a nice autumn afternoon and I was driving by and thought it was a great shot, so I stopped and took the picture."

It is easy to submit your picture to Star Witness.

Simply visit the Shropshire Star website and follow the instructions.

As well as bragging rights, the best pictures sent in will feature in the Shropshire Star newspaper and each month one will also be rewarded with £100.

Shropshire Star social media editor Mike Woods said: "We have been surprised just how popular it has been.

It only takes a few seconds to send a picture and lots of people are getting involved.

"We want to create a gallery of great Shropshire views, but also a snapshot of life in the region.

"We would like to reflect family life, especially around Christmas when Christmas trees are going up and cakes are being baked.

"And we want people going out for the evening to provide us with an idea of some of the social events happening.

"It might be a show, a nightclub or simply a dinner party with friends."
