A Shrewsbury Town FC fan who is cycling to every away game this season for charity had to be rescued from a mountain range after getting into difficulty in treacherous snowy conditions.
Mark Peters was en-route to the League Two side's away fixture at Rotherham on Saturday - which was postponed due to the weather - when he began to suffer from the cold and wet conditions when cycling through the Peak District.
Luckily the 47-year-old was spotted by Edale Mountain Rescue who said his lips had turned blue and he was just half-an-hour away from hypothermia setting in.
Mr Peters, who lives in Shrewsbury town centre, is trying to raise £5,000 for the Autism Society, as his son Jake, 15, has the condition.
He said: "I went through Buxton and . . . the weather went very nasty. It was just above freezing . . . I was soaked through and wasn't prepared for the weather being so bad."
Mr Peters was taken to a safe house where he was allowed to recuperate.
