Letter: Another silly idea
Letter: Police Community Support officers are walking around Northampton with megaphones telling people to lock their doors and not leave windows open in hot weather.
Letter: Police Community Support officers are walking around Northampton with megaphones telling people to lock their doors and not leave windows open in hot weather because burglars can sneak in. And if a door is ajar the police can enter the house and wake people up if they are asleep.
Wouldn't it be better to just catch the thieves and put them away?
Scenario: "This is the police . . . lock your doors and windows because we haven't got time to catch criminals, we are too busy walking down every street warning burglars to rob you when they know we have moved on to the next street . . ."
