An Evening of Mediumship with Tony Stockwell, Oakengates Theatre, Telford

Just over three weeks ago, acclaimed TV psychic Tony Stockwell gave me a personal reading over the telephone, correctly identifying a stranger's picture as my late father and pinpointing eerily specific details surrounding his death.

On Wednesday night, in front of about 700 people, he did it again, this time delivering my father's voice from the grave for me, my wife, and my astonished mother and revealing yet more chillingly personal facts.

It's easy to see why 40-year-old Stockwell has a loyal legion of fans.

He is charming, disarming, and on several occasions was astonishingly accurate, serving up names, personality traits and special memories for more than a dozen audience members.

There was the 14-year-old boy who died in a road crash and picked out his favourite schoolteacher; the father who thanked his daughter for the snowdrop she dropped on his coffin; even a recently deceased poodle who popped up to say hello to her grieving owner.

Some folk are fervent believers, others merely curious. Me? Well it cemented my view there is definitely something in it.

Stockwell has a new TV show on the Biography channel later this year, when a Telford woman will be among a group bidding to become his apprentice. If this is any guide, it promises to be an entertaining watch.
