Road is in need of a crossing
LETTER: There have been many controversial traffic "improvements" in Telford & Wrekin of late. How is it possible then that the lack of pedestrian safety at Furrows island continues to be overlooked?

The convenience store at the Texaco garage lures people from the housing estate across the road, students cross over to attend Telford College of Arts & Technology and the entrances to the Furrows site and the Bucks Head football ground are also just by the college - yet there is no crossing of any description on the island.
It's busy, it's fast and it's not even level - a factor which seriously impairs vision. I often cringe with trepidation to see elderly people and youngsters taking their lives in their hands while trying to cross there.
Surely this is an obvious road safety hotspot. Must somebody die before something is done?
