Ground not in best location

On September 29 we made the trip to watch our home team Rochdale play at the new football ground at Shrewsbury.

In the past I have travelled to Shrewsbury to watch other teams play with fond memories of quaint town pubs, walks along a delightful river and a gentle stroll into the ground.

What a surprise to find the new ground so far out of town, no parking arrangements near the ground, the nearest pub being what must be half a mile away, and dare I say no room for away supporters.

Once in the ground it was impressive but no more than many other rebuilt grounds.

But getting out after the match, we felt we were escaping from a prison of war camp. We were herded towards buses.

We wanted to walk back and would have liked to have spent some time in the town to spend some money on meals.

A big disappointment to what was billed as an exciting new ground; sorry you have a long way to go.
