Confused by alliances

I have to say I am confused by the politicians in Dawley at the moment.

I have to say I am confused by the politicians in Dawley at the moment.

To begin with, we had a new political party who preached "people before politics" and strongly denied the claims of the Labour Party that they would vote with the Tories - and then, at the first council meeting, put the Tories in charge of the council.

I refer to Vic Tonks's Tawpa party.

Then recently the "independent" former socialist worker supporter Paul Wolfe does a deal with Tawpa, who support the Tories, to become the chairman of the parish council.

Would it not have been simpler for Vic Tonks, Paul Wolfe and co to stand as Conservative candidates instead of confusing us?
